🤖 The Push For Multimodal ChatGPT
AND AI Researchers Expose Terabytes of Data
What's up? You're reading Inclined AI. We actually have news about GPT today; bless up.
Here's what is on tap today:
OpenAI races Google to release a multimodal model
Microsoft puts too much info on GitHub
A UK watchdog examines AI
Bird Watching and AI are coming together as one
Finally, the AI space is heating up.
This time, it's all about making our large language models multimodal (handles more than text inputs).
Google’s nearly there with its Gemini model. Think of it as the Swiss Army knife of language models—except this one could analyze your doodles, translate them into web code, or even unpack those mysterious pie charts your finance buddy keeps sending.
OpenAI, not to be outshone, is hustling to give GPT-4 a pair of x-ray specs, if you will. They're calling it GPT-Vision.
Why should you care?
Imagine you snap a pic of a scribble-on-a-napkin idea, feed it to GPT-4, and voila—out comes a fully-baked business plan or web layout.
It's like the Iron Man suit for your creative genius.
Google's got their version nearly polished, but OpenAI is playing catch-up, partly because they're being the hall monitor and making sure bad actors do not abuse the tool.
Reports indicate that OpenAI has another trick up its sleeve: a new, all-in-one model codenamed Gobi.
The details are blurry, but it seems OpenAI isn’t content to standstill anymore.
Who stands to win from this multimodal marathon?
You, me, and anyone tired of Googling "What does this graph mean?" or "How to turn doodles into dollars."
As these tech titans duel it out, we score the ultimate prize: better, more intelligent, more versatile AI.
So here's to competition—may the best multimodal marvel win!

Microsoft's giant oil tankard spills over on the giant sea that is the internet --ar 2:1 --s 500 --w 100
There was a big data leak…again.
Microsoft AI researchers might've dropped the bass harder than a clumsy DJ, leaking tens of terabytes of sensitive data.
It's like leaving your diary, house keys, and passwords in a café—only this café is GitHub, and everyone’s a regular.
Wiz, a cloud security startup, played the Sherlock to Microsoft's accidental Moriarty.
While Wiz was doing its routine sweep of GitHub repositories, it stumbled upon a URL linked to Microsoft's Azure Storage that was less "read-only" and more "open bar."
Anyone with the URL had the keys to the kingdom—38 terabytes of it, including employee backups, secret keys, and even internal Microsoft Teams messages.
Remember the Exxon Valdez oil spill?
Data leaks are the oil spills of the digital age. And if a titan like Microsoft can trip over its own feet, what’s stopping other significant players from doing the same?
Data handling in the AI sector is like handling nitroglycerin—volatile and high-risk.
Fortunately, Wiz alerted Microsoft faster than you can say "Ctrl+Alt+Delete," then Microsoft quickly revoked the "oversharing" SAS token, but not before giving us all a wake-up call.
So, the next time you see headlines about AI breakthroughs, remember: sometimes the breakthrough is in the wrong direction.
