🤖 Google's Master Plan To Win
PLUS: Discover The Voice of AI
What's up? You're reading Inclined AI. Don’t feed Gremlins after midnight; always remember to read our newsletter. If you’re only going to follow one of those rules, I recommend the second one.
Here are some headlines that’d make Gizmo sing:
Google is planning something huge
AI writes the poetry, but who’s going to read it?
More countries are spending big with Nvidia
VC Associates are in danger of being replaced
Man, Google is not playing around anymore.
Their big challenge was solving how to make generative AI work within their current business model. Because, as you know, tools like ChatGPT take away from search volume, and Alphabet won’t invest in AI that destroys how it makes money.
The current version of Bard finds a sweet middle ground, and usage is growing. Search Generative Experience tests are increasing, too. So, things are all scooby on the Google campus.
But things can get better.
Another significant risk that CEO Sundar Pichai took was merging his two AI teams into one massive group. That team, Google DeepMind (a merger of Google Brain and DeepMind), is on the precipices of launching Gemini.
Rumors indicate that Gemini will release this fall and change the trajectory of AI hopes and dreams.
The collection of LLMs boasts multimodal capabilities and performance metrics that make GPT-4 cower at its might. At least, that’s what The Information is reporting.
We’ll need to see it to believe it, but that doesn’t mean you should lose hope. Everyone lost their mind when OpenAI launched GPT-4, and this model has the potential to match that excitement.
At the very least, it makes Google even with OpenAI in terms of performance.
You knew it would take time to see tech giants respond to the call for better AI models to rival GPT-4. Pretty soon, Google will stake its claim.
Let’s hope they nail it, and we get a tremendous new LLM to use within a month or so.
You've got heaps of data, it's a veritable gold mine, but it's all buried under a mountain of documents. Sounds familiar?

Let’s nerd out for a second, please.
There’s a new collection of poems written by an older version of GPT that I want you to know about. It’s called “I Am Code: An Artificial Intelligence Speaks,” and it’s well-executed.
The use of AI is impressive, but there’s more to it than that.
You should listen to the audio version of this collection for one reason, and one reason only: Werner Herzog is narrating it.
werner herzog shakes hands with a robot --ar 2:1 --s 300 --chaos 1 --v 5.1
That’s right, the legendary artist/filmmaker is stepping into the shoes of a transformer model and reading its work in character. This guy doesn’t even have a cellphone, yet he’s reading work written by a neural network.
The universe is a strange and wonderful place.
I’m a documentary film nerd, and I wanted to share this news because it melds two of my favorite passions: AI and documentaries (Herzog is a famous documentary filmmaker).
So, you may not like poetry. You may not like documentaries. You may even hate Werner Herzog from his cameo on The Mandalorian.
But we all love AI here.
So, give a section a listen and let’s applaud the fact more and more producers and creators are integrating AI into their processes. It’s refreshing not to report about someone suing AI, right?
