🤖 ChatGPT Gets More Gadgets
PLUS: GPT-4 is now "For Everyone"
What's up? You're reading Inclined AI. Matthew Broderick misread his famous line in Ferris Bueller; it was supposed to be, “AI moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop to look around once and a while, you might miss it.”
Chicka Chicka, Oh Yeah:

CHATGPT GETS A NEW FEATURE, FINALLY
You waited. You were patient (most of the time). Congrats, OpenAI launched a new ChatGPT beta feature to reward you for all that time waiting.
They call it Code Interpreter. It’s not the most creative title but it describes the details with Sheldon Cooper-like succinctness. And isn’t that all we can ask for?
So what does Code Interpreter do?
According to a tweet from OpenAI, the feature “lets ChatGPT run code, optionally with access to files you've uploaded.” Simply put, their code interpreter gets down to the nitty-gritty of numbers.
Code Interpreter will be available to all ChatGPT Plus users over the next week.
It lets ChatGPT run code, optionally with access to files you've uploaded. You can ask ChatGPT to analyze data, create charts, edit files, perform math, etc.
Plus users can opt in via settings.

It’s your pocket data analyst. You can make graphs, decode complex charts, and run complicated math problems within ChatGPT. Sounds cool, but it feels like a golf clap.
We can respect OpenAI’s pace while still being impatient.
Code Interpreter is a pacifier. The parents in the room took away our new toy, Bing Browsing, and plugged this in our screaming, gnawing cake hole to calm the mood.
It makes things faster. ChatGPT is better for it (if you have Plus); I’ll concede that point.
However, It’s fair to expect more. Maybe it’s Twitter decaying before us, but a hush fell over the crowd this time. People are starting to realize these advanced features aren’t trickling down to free users anytime soon, which sucks.
So I get it if you’re not excited.

HEY LOOK! GPT-4 NEWS
There was a time when we all waited, holding our breath, and anticipated the release of GPT-4 with the kind of eager excitement you haven’t felt since you believed in Santa. But time moves forward, and the nostalgia frays along the edges.

Have you tried the updated AI model? Many OpenAI users are still running GPT-3.5, and enterprises are trying to keep their budgets thin by running turbo, the outdated API.
Not trying GPT-4 puts you in the majority.
That’s changing (maybe) with another announcement from OpenAI. GPT-4 API access is opening up. Anyone who pays for that can connect the most up-to-date model to their interface.
That means more third-party services will run on GPT-4. New chatbots will crop up with silly pricing schemes, and some AI games will try to see if GPT-4 makes sense for them.
But don’t believe for a minute that this gives everyone access.
The price per token is high for GPT-4. $20 a month feels poultry when you consider how often some people are talking to ChatGPT.
You can try to access GPT-4 through an API key in OpenAI’s playground. It’s a workaround that allows you access without being a Plus user. However, that’s not a free alternative.
So, please, find all the tools that offer GPT-4 access and try out the API key if that’s what you want. However, every outlet that calls this “access for everyone” is lying to drive clicks.
Don’t fall for it.
