🤖 Amazon Strikes Back
PLUS: Nvidia wants to capitalize on its success
What's up? You're reading Inclined AI. It’s August! That means kids are back in school, and ChatGPT essay prompts will skyrocket again.
Here's what is on tap today:
AWS is clawing back in the LLM battles
Nvidia is pushing for more knowledge
AI can help guys with rising to the occasion
YouTube starts dubbing videos using AI
AMAZON WEB SERVICES FEELS THE PRESSURE
Follow the money and watch the messaging channels; that’s how you can tell what a company is responding to and worried about today. And that’s how we know that AWS is feeling the AI crunch.
Investors worry that the company is lagging in its generative AI work.

That tentative behavior will hit Amazon’s stock prices, and we know it’s already showing in the data because their growth is slow compared to the other big tech guys.
But is that AI’s fault?
Other factors contribute to the big numbers, and Bedrock, the name of Amazon’s AI services, is moving forward at the beat of its own drum. So, if AI is the issue, surely it’s not a long-term problem, right?
Well, that’s what Amazon is saying. This part here is where the other half of that equation comes in: messaging channels.
The PR blitz by AWS is saying one thing loud and clear: we’re the leader for a reason.
They’ve been responsive to demand for top-of-the-line chips (more on that in the story below) and continue to take a neutral approach on which AI companies to support.
AWS is telling a story. Their division is a competent team that knows one AI company will not win it all. That’s why they’re placing more bets on the board and monitoring inflection points.
They can’t afford to fall behind in the server space. That’s the only thing that matters.
They’re adapting faster than the other guys and copying tactics from the new, agile, AI-focused startups to ensure that doesn't happen.
But talk is one thing. The money doesn’t show a total change of pace yet, but you should expect to hear more from AWS as a subtle shadow that backs big players from the background.
That’s how they win.
WHEN IT COMES TO BUILDING APPS FOR THE APP STORE, YOU WERE LATE TO THE PARTY
So, don’t miss your chance to join the new wave of development and excitement.
It’s all happening over at MindStudio, a platform for launching and sharing powerful AI apps.
But here’s the best part: you don’t even need to know how to code.
Within ten minutes, you can create a powerful tweet generator or an AI version of your favorite fictional character. Their platform is the most flexible and surefire way to build the AI app of your dreams.
MindStudio is also model agnostic, so you don’t need to choose between GPT-4 and Claude 2 when making your app.
That’s right; you can have your cake and eat it, too, when you build your next AI app on their platform.
But it’s not all building and sharing.
You can access other apps made by community members. Those AI tools can be remixed or modified by anyone, including you! Connect with like-minded developers and share your creations with them.
All of these features are totally free to use. That means there’s no limit to your ability to browse and build on the platform.
Creators are the only ones who charge for use, which means you can even monetize YOUR creations.
It’s all possible, thanks to MindStudio!
ON THAT NOTE, NVIDIA IS MAKING A DIFFERENT PLAY
In a tale of two companies, AWS is seeing the worst of times, and Nvidia is seeing the best of times. So, how does the latter keep the good times rolling, then?
If you’re Jensen Haung, the CEO, the answer is to keep customers happy. But that’s easier said than done, given how Nvidia operates.
Defining Nvidia’s customer base is complicated.
The company recently took on a bunch of emerging service providers that focus on AI startups. The strategy is clear: engrain yourself in the space and keep the market share by getting to new companies early.
That makes sense, right? It’s the McDonald’s playground of AI chips. They'll remember you forever if you get them while they’re young.
But there’s a wrench in that plan. Nvidia is dealing with many go-betweens, which puts its goals at risk.
Imagine a McDonald’s franchise owner who fails to keep his playground clean. Those kids will never come back, and that can’t happen.
Nvidia is seeing some of their customers over-extended themselves and fail the customers of their customers. So, they want to know who’s using their chips and which companies are hoarding H100s (their best product for AI usage) without the capacity to justify it.
The crazy part is their customers are obliging.
Now, Nvidia is armed with more data and control to help them maintain relationships with promising startups and foster a product experience that keeps them at the top of the pack.
In other words, Nvidia keeps winning, man.

Good Content, Goodbye Twitter
I’m not trying to make fun of anyone, but when you’re company literally invents a verb (tweeting), it feels like the wrong move to abandon that. Let’s say RIP to an era.
