PLUS: Nvidia makes a play for AI investment
What's up? You're reading Inclined AI. And if you’re still on Threads today, congrats you have more patience than millions of people.
Here's what is on tap today:
G/O Media doubles down on their AI writer
Nvidia pulls out their wallet, strategically
Microsoft releases Bing Chat to enterprises
Tons of government hearings and reports
AI IN THE NEWSROOM IS HERE TO STAY
G/O Media’s AI experiment, a daring leap into the future, has become more of a stumble. Errors litter the AI-generated stories like unwanted confetti, leading to an office party that no one's enjoying.
Despite the unfavorable response, execs committed to exploring the AI frontier further, which puts them at odds with many other publishers who prefer their AI in the supporting cast rather than in the lead role.
But G/O execs see AI as a game-changer, like a digital Gutenberg press.
They're excited about using AI for story generation, research assistance, and business-side automation. It's like getting your own personal R2-D2 but with a business degree.
Yet G/O's editorial team feels more like they're facing a Darth Vader situation: a powerful, tech-driven force threatening their roles.
It's not just about job preservation but also content quality.
Newsrooms across the world have flirted with AI-generated stories with mixed results. It's a bit like the early days of CGI—sometimes you get Jurassic Park, and sometimes you end up with Jaws 3-D.
Meanwhile, G/O Media braces for the loops and turns in the roller coaster ride of AI integration. Is this future where AI-generated stories rule the roost, or will it become an AI version of the Edsel? Time will tell.

NVIDIA KEEPS UP THEIR STRATEGIC INVESTMENT STRATEGY
a retro logo of a smiling computer chip, cartoon, fun --ar 2:1 --s 600 --w 600 --chaos 1 --v 5.1
Nvidia is like the cool kid at school, known for its top-tier computer chips. Now, Nvidia is also becoming a big-time investor in AI and cloud technology startups.
Take Lambda Labs, a small company that rents servers loaded with Nvidia chips. Nvidia is about to buy a part of Lambda Labs, becoming a sort of partner.
This investment is a big deal.
Imagine your favorite pizza place also becoming a part-owner of the cheese factory. Nvidia already did this with another company, CoreWeave, too.
It might sound odd, but it's a smart move. More startups using Nvidia chips mean more people need to buy their chips.
It's a bit like if a bicycle company invested in a company making bicycle paths. More paths could lead to more people cycling and buying more bikes.
But there's a twist.
Big companies like Amazon and Microsoft also want Nvidia's chips. But they've given the new kids on the block, like Lambda and CoreWeave, access to their latest and best chips, which forces the large tech companies to wait in line.
This strategy is working. Demand for Nvidia's chips is sky-high, and their stock price has increased by over 220% this year.
Nvidia's playing a great game, but as with any game, there are risks.
Right now, Nvidia is helping startups and making a good profit. But what happens when these little companies become big competitors?
It's like teaching your friend to play chess, only to discover they've become grandmasters. Will these startups stay friendly, or will they become rivals?
That's the billion-dollar question for Nvidia.

Good Content, Darth Doggo
I love this post on Reddit, and this is so funny. But we can all agree that a pug is a better choice for Darth Vader, right? I mean, they already breathe like him.
